We are delighted to be able to award a grant to South Coast Skating Club to hold free skateboarding lessons.
The lessons will provide skateboarding equipment, as well as professional guidance to those taking part.
Dale from South Coast Skating Club says “Our aims are to encourage growth and positive change of young people overcoming fears, building confidence, building communities, encouraging diversity and acceptance, learning to cope with failure and to see it as a positive not a negative, overcoming this to achieve. We are looking to put on more free events to keep young people engaged and give them goals and aspirations as well as setting up positive role models for young people. With Skateboarding in the Olympics this year, skateboarding could turn a local child into an Olympic hopeful”
