Making Sompting a more united community, and a better place to live, work and play.

Run by the Local Trust, Big Local is working with over £200m from the Big Lottery Fund and a range of partners, to provide expert advice and support for residents.

The four programme outcomes for Big Local are:

  • Communities will be better able to identify local needs and take action in response to them
  • People will have increased skills and confidence, so that they continue to identify and respond to needs in the future
  • The community will make a difference to the needs it prioritises
  • People will feel that their area is an even better place to live.

Sompting Big Local

Our midnight walk numbers and fund raising packs arrived yesterday. Myself, Barbara SBL volunteer & Emma, administrator are taking part on June 29th raising funds in memory of Carol Cuckney who sadly passed away recently. Many of you knew Carol from her weekly craft session held in the hub. If you wish to sponsor us, whether one pound each or more every penny counts. Our target is to raise £300 EACH......All monies raised goes to St Barnabas. We don't have gym toned bodies, or lungs that will get us up kilimanjaro.....We do have determination & memories of Carol to motivate us! Will post here how you can sponsor us if you wish shortly. Thank you. ... See MoreSee Less
